Our Shooting Sports Weekend is
specifically designed for Bear Cubs, Webelos and their Adult Partner. All
attending Scouts must have already earned their Archery and BB Gun Belt
Loops to participate during this unique weekend. The Staff of Camp Blue
Heron has worked many hours developing a higher level shooting program
where participants (Youth and Adults) may qualify for the Archery and BB
Gun Activity Pins. New Daisy Model #499
Rifles
have been purchased for the program as well as added supplies and
equipment for the Archery department. We will be providing additional
Shooting Ranges for both BB Gun and Archery to accommodate the
participants. There will be many Cub Scout related program Electives to
choose from along with these special shooting opportunities.
According to the rules set forth
by BSA Shooting Standards, Cub Scouts can only acquire the Shooting Sports
Belt Loops and Activity Pins under the direction of a certified BSA
Shooting Sports Director at a Council sponsored event. We will not be
offering Shooting Sports Belt Loops but will be focusing on the Archery
and BB Gun Shooting Sports Pin Requirements.
We will also be offering several other Bears and Webelos Electives,
activities and games that can be worked on and enjoyed during your stay at
Camp Blue Heron.
Important Note:
There must be a 1 Adult to 1 Scout ratio to attend this event. A Cub Scout must have a
parent or parent substitute, another adult 21 years of age or older, to
accompany him throughout the weekend events.
The cost per person for the
weekend will be $28.
Five meals are provided
beginning with the Friday evening meal.
Shooting Sports Weekend will
be offered to a limited number of participants. Only 200 Adults and Scouts
combined may register. Please reserve your place SOON!
Special Note: Because of low
registrations for this event we are cancelling the weekend operations and
will include the Shooting Sports activities during Session #1 and Session
#2 of the Cub Scout Spring Fling Weekends. (April 13-15, & May 4-6, 2007)
Those that have registered will be contacted by office personnel and asked
which session of Spring Fling they would like to attend.
PLEASE REGISTER BY MARCH 6,
2007.
