MISSION STATEMENT

This is what the Sea Kayaking Program At Camp Blue Heron is all about!

The true joy of a High Adventure Program is the total immersion in a Team. As a team, we learn new skills, work together to overcome obstacles, develop new friendships, and build lasting memories.

One of the best Southeastern High Adventure Programs around! Do you like to have fun, seek adventure, want to see new and interesting places, experience nature at it's best? Camp Blue Heron's Sea Kayaking Adventure Treks have all this and much, much more! Watch Dolphins as they jump and surface right beside your kayak. Eyewitness creatures of nature in the wild like the otter, alligators, birds of all types, occasional visits from large Sea Turtles and of course the awesome sights to be seen while out on these great adventures.

You might even be lucky and see a Pirate or two! Many of the areas visited during the adventures are places where the Pirates of old buried their booty! Blackbeard was one of them. It just so happens that the water routes our Sea Kayakers travel could possibly be near Blackbeard Island.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, a Great Adventure awaits you at Camp Blue Heron Mates! So get ready to hoist ye anchors and cast off for a spectacular High Adventure experience not soon to be forgotten!

This is a BSA High Adventure Program requiring participants to be 13 years of age or older on or before January 1st of the year of participation.  The Program has been designed for Boy Scouts, Venturing Members, Explorers and for adventurous Adult Leaders. So come aboard ye landlobbers and make sure ye check out the links to the left for program scheduling offered during Fall 2007, Spring and Summer of 2008.
