CAMPERSHIP PROGRAM

CAMP BLUE HERON

Riceboro, Georgia

For Local Council Scout Members Only!

The purpose of our Campership Program is to make attendance to Summer Camp possible for deserving Scouts whom otherwise would be unable to meet the fee requirements. It is important that the details be handled in such a way as to cause no embarrassment to the Scout or his family. All Scouts receiving a Campership should earn or provide part of the fee in keeping with the ninth point of the Scout Law, "A Scout Is Thrifty." The information requested on the form is confidential, but necessary to determine the degree of need for each applicant. Identify Scouts within your unit who may have difficulty paying for their Summer Camp experience and try to find ways for them to earn the needed funds. A limited number of Camp Blue Heron Camperships are available from the Council Service Center to meet the needs of low-income and other financial hindered families. Leaders seeking a Campership for one or more of their Scouts should submit the Campership application form included in your Leader's Guidebook or <Click Here> to print an official Council Campership form. Please mail or drop off by the Council Service Center on or before May 16, 2008. Camperships may be approved up to as much as 50% of the total Camp cost, depending upon the individual's situation. Summer Camp cost for 2008 is $205.00 per scout.
