Summer is right around the corner and that
means Summer Camp time in the Coastal Empire Council We are planning and working
towards a great summer with many exciting events and program offerings for
you and your unit.
We offer three different High Adventure
Programs during our summer operations along with our more <Traditional>,
<First Year Camper>
and <Provisional
Scout Camping> Programs. Camp Blue Heron offers the <BSA Cope
& Climbing Courses>, <Extreme COPE Challenge>, and <Sea Kayaking Adventure Treks>. Many individuals and units have already expressed an interest
in attending these great programs. We recommend early registration to
avoid the crowds!

Camp Blue Heron will again be offering the Boy Scout
World Conservation Award!
The World Conservation Award
provides an opportunity for individual Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity
Scouts, and Venturers to "think globally" and "act locally" to preserve
and improve our environment. This program is designed to make youth
members aware that all nations are closely related through natural
resources and that we are interdependent with our world environment.
As a Boy Scout,
you can earn this award by earning the following merit badges:
- Environmental Science
merit badge.
- Soil and Water
Conservation or
Fish and Wildlife Management
merit badge.
- Citizenship in the World
merit badge

Local Scoutmasters, speak to your District
Executive about scheduling a Summer Camp Promotion Night for your troop.
Our Promotional Team would be happy to assist you with your 2009 Summer
Camp planning. If your troop does not plan to be with us for the summer, please
remember that we offer a <Provisional Camping Program> for Scouts wishing to
attend more than one week of Traditional Summer Camp.
