Scouters In the Coastal Empire Council,
Wood Badge Course SR-882 has been
completed at Camp Blue Heron, Riceboro, Georgia. The first and second weekends
of program and activities were conducted with great success despite the
rain and mud on Friday, February 22 but, thank goodness we
experienced great weather throughout the remainder of the program!
If you are committed to the ideals of Scouting and have
completed the basic training for your registered position, participation
in Wood Badge is a natural next step. Wood Badge is internationally
recognized and has a tradition that dates back to 1919; however, the
training you will receive is fresh and applicable for you both
inside
as well as
outside
of your Scouting position.
Wood Badge is conducted in the outdoors
and the tightly packed schedule is physically challenging, but the
experience will probably be the most exhilarating fun you will ever have
in Scouting. All participants are placed in patrols that function as
units throughout the course. By the end, you will surely feel a strong
bond with the other members of your patrol.
Participation in Wood Badge is by
invitation, but ALL Scouters (Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Venture, Unit
Committee members, Council Executive Board members) are welcome to apply for an
invitation. Be looking for our upcoming 2009 Wood Badge Course
advertisements from the Coastal Empire Council, Inc. Any
questions you have are welcome, and I am
only a phone call: (912-826-5545) or email:

away. The
staff and I look forward to serving you.
