Council Highlights - 2012 MONEY - Completed Fundraising Campaign raised $328,000
- Family FOS increased $2,500 (2010) $10,000 (2011) to $37,000 (2012)
- Balanced Budget - for 5 years
- Good Scout Luncheon pledges received $150,000 on the day of event
- Two successful Golf Tournaments made over $21,000
- Sporting Clays Tournament and Holiday Auction grossed over $91,000
- Gulfstream has agreed to a grant of $15,000 to support LFL at high schools
- Popcorn Sales grossed $201,000 (2011) $227,000 (2012)
- 27 James E. West Endowment Gifts of $1,000 or more
MEMBERSHIP - Growth in Traditional, Cub, Boy and Venture Membership
- 1% growth on total Traditional Membership
- Recruited 1,200 Cub Scout which is a 20% growth over 2011/ Spoke to 22,500 youth in the service area of the Council
- Retention 57% (2010) 60% (2011) up to 61% (2012)
- Scout Reach serves 600 Scouts from 31 units with a 10% growth over 2011
- Established 13 after School programs to reach at risk youth outside the traditional Scoutreach programs
- Established 3 Crews to reach and serve students of Georgia Southern University
- with plans to expand this program to other institutions of higher learning.
EVENTS/PROGRAMS - Philmont: sent 16 Scouts in Council Contingency
- Parent-N-Pal weekends: 3,719 cubs participated at Black Creek Scout Reservation
- Merit Badge University at AASU registered 206 Boy Scouts
- 59 Scouts earned the highest rank of Eagle in 2012
- 260 Scouts and 76 leaders attended Camp Tomochichi Summer Camp
- 657 Leaders online and 353 Leaders in a classroom were trained in the council
- 27 Scout Units attended summer camp
ADMINISTRATION - Recruited and organized functional Council Committees
- Council Strategic Plan written and implemented
- Journey to Excellence Bronze Level Award (2011) Silver level (2012)
- Camping Facility in Screven County named Black Creek Scout Reservation
